If you are new to internet marketing, you might confuse about the internet marketing and affiliate marketing. You can get some ideas here and make your business plan before starting any online business.

Internet marketing is a new business model since 21st century. Early in the year of 2000, Electronic (e) is widely used forthe activities engaging in the internet. Electronic Commerce (e-commerce) & Electronic Business (e-business) can be defined as buying and selling of products, services and information on internet. Nowadays, people more recognize e-commerce and e-business as internet marketing.

Internet marketing is a process of identifying prospective customers, tracking and collecting data on these potentialcustomers and then targeting them. It is the technique that leverages the internet for driving the traffic to the business. It is very different from traditional business because suppliers do not need to have a location or shop house to carry anyinventories anymore. While customers can get their products by a few clicks at the comfort of their home. It is very convenient and no barriers of trade between countries.

* Email marketing
* Pay per click
* Social bookmarking
* Search engine marketing (SEM)
* Search engine optimization (SEO)
* Website development
* Web directories
* Website traffic / ranking

Affiliate marketing is a type of internet marketing where there is a revenue sharing venture between a website owner and anonline merchant. Online merchant will reward the webmaster when they choose to act as sales people on behalf of their principals for a commission on every sale.

There are 3 ways to earn money through Affiliate Marketing:
1) Pay Per Click
2) Pay Per Lead
3) Pay Per Sales

Understand the business model is important before starting any business offline or online. Planning is also important and hopefully you still remember the famous old saying "If You Fail to Plan, You Plan to Fail".
